If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen some of these photos over the past several weeks but many of these you haven't. I love playing with my Lensbaby. It is so different from any other lens I have and always produces unique images. I have been looking for fun subjects to focus on and I finally found somethings that are perfect. This little jewelry box is so adorable and catches the light in fun ways I thought it would be a great challenge to photograph. And I was right! Either the focus was of, the light was hitting the box in a weird way, too much of the box was in focus, the background was too plain, then too distracting, the list seriously goes on and on. I must have photographed this box a hundred different ways before finally falling in love with an image. It doesn't help that this lens is just plain tricky to use. You have to squeeze it to focus just right and then tilt it if you want any part other than dead center in focus. No focus and recomposing allowed (which is a method I use often). But ultimately, learning this lens is worth it. I mean, look at these shots! You aren't going to find them anywhere else. And you can't recreate the effect of this lens in Photoshop. Well, I guess you can, but it is going to take a while and be seriously annoying.
